Does Metal Have a New Bustling Subgenre? Doom Eternal OST Inspired “ARGENT INTENSITY” Track Written by Marvel Composer, Produced by Sleep Token/Loathe Producer says, “F*CK YES.”

Doom Eternal-inspired metal subgenre track “Argent Intensity” is available for streaming. Award-winning film/series composer Jesse Zuretti (Marvel, Universal) began composing the track in late 2021 as a demo for a potential production. Composer & Sound Designer Robert Bruckmayer added entirely new life to the song. George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe) joined as final creative producer and mixing engineer. The track is mastered by Skywalker Sound interactive audio designer Nathan Moody.

“Argent Intensity” is a ferocious addition to the developing Mick Gordon (Doom Eternal, Atomic Heart) pioneered subgenre, some in the id Software Doom community aptly call Argent Metal. “We all have a huge amount of pride and respect for Mick’s work. It’s rare that something makes such a huge wave like his score did,” Jesse Zuretti exclaims. The track features additional music by YouTuber GeoffPlaysGuitar, known for doing video game OST covers in the style of Doom Eternal. Zuretti described Argent Metal as, “Meshuggah-like molten guitar string bends, video game/cinematic sound design, distorted & mangled synthesizers, and outside-of-the-box production”.

Jesse Zuretti started composing music for Marvel in 2018, which eventually led to the company winning an award in 2020. Jesse also works with producers (Jens Bogren, Dave Otero) and bands to add cinematic/orchestral/synth composing to their records.

A follow-up track “Argent Industrialism” is expected October 21st, 2022.
