JINX’s 2xko Theme

Riot Games Senior Composer Michael Pitman first approached me to work on JINX with him after he dropped an already incredible start to the theme. It felt unhinged, chaotic, and impulsive — something the 2XKO soundtrack had yet to do so far. The references were right up my alley, and I got to work right away, implementing a barrage of every-changing odd-time signatures, gargantuan octafuzz guitar riffing fused seamlessly against an evolving buzzy bass synth.

Michael Pitman and I both have a LOT in common musically (more than most people I’ve met in my life), so it was easy for us to build a language for this track from the jump. To tie everything together, our unifying producer (Joe Ford) wove in his mix and synth sorcery and rhythmic perspectives. The three of us working on this one track has really taken this theme from an already instant-favorite of mine, to possibly my favorite whackadoo music I’ve been involved with, period.

the Loose Cannon

JINX’s Background

A manic and impulsive criminal from Zaun, Jinx lives to wreak havoc without care for the consequences. With an arsenal of deadly weapons, she unleashes the loudest blasts and brightest explosions to leave a trail of mayhem and panic in her wake. Jinx despises boredom, and gleefully brings her own chaotic brand of pandemonium wherever she goes.
