WHO AM I EVEN, and WHO AM I DONATING TO?

If for some reason you don’t know who I am yet you’re here, hello! I’m Jesse Zuretti, I’m a professional music composer currently working on a soundtrack for Riot Games on the upcoming 2v2 fighting game 2XKO.
I worked with Marvel creating music for superheroes and supervillains for 5 years before being called into the video game world.
-
I’ve spoken with classes at various colleges and schools, like Berklee, Columbia, Los Angeles Film School, Brooklyn College, and more.
I’ve also co-hosted a panel with my good friend Mason Lieberman (Tencent audio director, Berklee & USC adjunct professor), and Koyo Sonae (composer agent for games like Marvel v Capcom, Devil May Cry 5). I’ve conducted a full course for music producers and band musicians looking to crossover into composing for URM Academy.
-
All the while, I’ve played in my band/music baby, Binary Code, which I started at the age of 17 in 2004 whilst in high school and still play in to this day.
I also play guitar and compose for orchestra and synths in the band DAATH (Metal Blade, formerly Roadrunner, Century Media) with Eyal Levi (URM Academy/Riffhard), Krimh Lechner (SepticFlesh), Rafael Trujillo (Obscura), Sean Zatorsky (Sinsaenum), and David Marvuglio (Ice Nine Kills, Berklee Bass Instructor).

OSCAR (One Step Closer Animal Rescue) is a New Jersey based animal rescue where I adopted my profoundly beloved chocolate doberlab Mazzy in 2017.
Mazzy has been such an incredibly important part of my life ever since. She’s taught me to be a better person, as weird as that may sound. She’s caring, empathetic, funny, smart, STUBBORN, sweet, and absolutely wonderful — she loves every kid, adult, and animal she meets.
She especially loves her mom, Sydney, grandma Kate, and adopted chihuahua brother Yoshi, and feline bro Tito. Oh and above all, treats.
-
OSCAR was created through the desire to save the lives of innocent animals. All of their members have a strong passion to save as many dogs and cats as they can, as well as a commitment to ensure great futures for all of the pets they rescue.
One Step Closer Animal Rescue, Inc. in Sparta, New Jersey, is a non-profit rescue organization that saves dogs and cats from desperate situations. They rescue pets from overcrowded shelters where animals are euthanized due to lack of space. O.S.C.A.R. cares for these pets and gives them the loving care they deserve.
They ensure that all pets in their care receive the proper veterinary attention and vaccinations, and that the animals are spayed/neutered. All of O.S.C.A.R.'s dogs and cats are great animals that deserve loving homes. In addition, OSCAR helps the local community with strays, re-homing animals, intake of NJSPCA abuse cases, and TNR (trap neuter release on feral cats).

WHAT IS THIS, AND WhAT FOR?

I want to always be able to guide and inspire anyone interested in learning about what I do for a living with music. But there’s only so many hours in a day! And similarly, I want to always be able to give back to organizations that I deeply believe are doing great things for our world.
I tested the concept of donating to have a conversation in 2022 during the most important demo process of my life. It was a HUGE success, and I learned that I can add value to both people interested in learning from me, as well as the organizations I support.
-
In 2022 it was an organization called Art From the Streets in Austin, Texas - a place for people experiencing homelessness to create and sell art and receive the proceeds. I got to meet many of the artists that the money was raised for, and it changed my life.
And I’m doing that again today with yet another deeply important facet of my life: animal rescue. And I’ve chosen OSCAR (One Step Closer Animal Rescue) where I adopted my dog-child Mazzy!
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
-
I get a LOT of inquiries via email or social media these days, asking me questions about composing music for games/film/bands/etc, as well as career guidance, and technical questions. I LOVE answering these inquiries, but sometimes I neglect my professional and personal “time budget” to take the time to have these interactions.
-
If you asked 16 year old Jesse how he’d feel if people reached out to him for advice or guidance, he would’ve laughed thinking, “Who would want that from me?” I’m still kind of that way today, but I understand that there’s a ton of value in learning about the composing career field from someone currently navigating the ins and outs from a modern and recent perspective.

Because my schedule is crazy for the rest of the year with music work as well as my family making big changes in our lives, I want to make the time count. So I decided to revive my “donate to conversate” campaign again, which I did in late 2022 to MUCH success resulting in many, many, many appointments booked into the new year.
find out when you can donate and when you can book a time down below
WHEN CAN I DONATE?
Between now and May 17th, 2024 is when you can donate to book a time
And please understand that this is the only time I will accept donations in exchange for a perk booked. If it’s after then, you could be waiting until 2025 to schedule a call.
You can still donate ANY time if you’d like, but I can’t guarantee that I will be able to book a time with you. Once a donation is made, we will book a time for this year — it may not be until late Summer of 2024, but it could be sooner depending on which perk you choose. Remember, the concept of this donation campaign is to give back and also maximize the value of having a conversation.
HOW CAN I DONATE AND BOOK WITH YOU?
It’s super easy, donate using the PINK or GREEN BUTTON and we’ll start an email from there!
If you feel like you’d rather donate directly to OSCAR Rescue, please make sure you forward me your confirmation email confirming the amount
